Along with
development of portable Freeview TV, a number of “plug-and-play” devices have also been made available in the UK
market in recent years to enable people to watch Freeview TV by using their laptop and desktop
computers.
You can find from our
website August USB Freeview HDTV Receiver which enables you to watch Freeview TV on your
computer by just plugging the USB stick to your laptop or desktop PC; USB Hybrid Freeview & Analogue TV Stick which receives both Freeview and analogue
suitable for people to watch Freeview where the signal is good and analogue TV if there is difficulty to receive
Freeview signal (see Difficulties at Present) or while traveling to countries where Freeview
is not broadcasted; Geniatech Express Hybrid TV & FM Radio Card for Freeview/analogue
TV plus listening to FM radio designed for users wishing to save USB port for other uses such as wireless mouse,
printer or internet; Geniatech PCMCIA Hybrid TV & FM Radio Card which does the same as
express card suitable for PCs without express card port.
Geniatech X8000T PCI Hybrid TV & FM Radio
Card is designed for desktop computers and people with basic computer DIY skills who can open the
computer case and fix the card to a in/output slot of his/her computer.
Geniatech Mini Moni DTV is a monitor
Freeview TV receiver for people to watch Freeview TV using their computer monitor without need to connect the
device to the computer. For a size about 3 citrate boxes, this little receiver is actually a standalone digital
Freeview TV already with various interfaces for outputting picture and sound to almost any type and any size of
monitors.
Please note that
there may be difficulty to receive Freeview TV signal by a portable TV antenna in some areas in the UK at present
where the signal is not sufficiently strong. This is due to that the Freeview service (www.freeview.co.uk) in the
UK is yet full power operating and does not fully support portable TV antenna at present (see Difficulties at
Present).
The reception for Portable Freeview TV will be improving along with the progress of Digital Switchover
Program (see Scheduled Upgrading) over the coming
years.
